Discover Gothic Sage Therapy and Designs Healing Through Thoughtful Design

The Origin of Gothic Sage:

I have always been a creative person, finding refuge in art growing up. When life started to get more chaotic in my adolescence, rearranging my bedroom furniture felt like the one thing I could control. I leaned into art-making to manage my own anxiety and depression. As a highly sensitive person, I am aware of the impact environments can have on our emotional well-being.

My love for art combined with my passion for helping others led me to pursue a bachelor’s in psychology with a studio art minor and a master's in clinical mental health with a specialization in art therapy. Since graduating from Antioch University Seattle, I have worked in inpatient mental health and now offer virtual individual counseling.

Working virtually, I have the unique opportunity to connect with clients in their own spaces, and the term ‘safe space’ frequently comes up in our sessions. This concept has always been a goal of mine: to integrate my love for interior design and therapy to help create safe, nurturing environments.

As a homeowner now, I have a love for thrifting and DIY projects to save money while not sparing design quality. "Gothic" represents my love for vintage and ornate maximalist elements, and "Sage" represents my down-to-earth, sustainable approach to life. Sage also symbolizes resilience. It has been healing for me to create my own safe space that reflects what feels right for my partner and me. I hope to support you in finding your own unique style that makes you feel at home.
